Erasing is for posers. Totally a fan of ink. I like reacting to the stroke I've made by adapting, improvising even when that stroke seems undesirable. The pen I hold in my hand is an extension of myself. It facilitates the expression of thoughts which I cannot access consciously or directly. My thoughts aren't always perfect; Their graphic representations shouldn't be either. There are curious meanings even in our mistakes.
Sometimes, when I draw, I feel like I'm more an observer than a performer -- like some great discovery is unfolding that I didn't anticipate. It's almost like possession.
A real artist means to communicate something to themselves, not other people. But, a good artist is someone who depicts a part of the soul so clearly that others are able to relate.
